2027 Conference Featured Performing Ensemble Application
Opens Jan 19 2026 12:00 AM (EST)
Deadline Mar 10 2026 11:59 PM (EDT)
Description

Chorus America is now accepting applications for Featured Performing Ensembles to perform at the 2027 Annual Conference in Los Angeles, CA June 9-12 at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your chorus in front of an audience of outstanding choral leaders. We are interested in presenting a variety of ensembles from the region and the Featured Performing Ensembles will be selected by a panel including regional and North American choral leaders.

We are expecting to have three concerts over June 9-12, 2027, exact days and times to be determined. We’re looking for up to 8 choirs to participate between the concerts. Each choir will present a set of up to 30 minutes – approximately 25 minutes of music and 5 minutes for speaking and movement. Venue selection is supported by a group of local planning partners and Chorus America’s staff. We work to select venues that are in close proximity to the conference hotel and will support the costs of venue rentals for the concerts.

In addition to these choral performances by the selected Featured Performing Ensembles, the Conference includes professional development sessions on all aspects of leading today’s choruses and a wide array of networking opportunities and special events. In appreciation for their time and efforts, Chorus America will give one complimentary Conference registration to the selected Featured Performing Ensembles.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, ensembles must:

  • Be based within the greater Los Angeles counties:
    • Los Angeles County
    • Orange County
    • Ventura County
    • San Bernadino County
    • Riverside County
  • Present a proposed program of music not exceeding 25 minutes in length.
  • Be a current Chorus Member of Chorus America. For more information, please visit our membership page or email membership@chorusamerica.org to confirm your status. Individual members are not eligible.
  • Take responsibility for all production costs related to your appearance, except venue rental costs. These production costs could include, but are not limited to, printed programs, artist fees, transportation of performers, and equipment.

A panel of representative stakeholders will review the submitted applications, keeping in mind the overall balance and type of performing choirs and representation of the greater Los Angeles region. The panel will also review the applicants based on the following criteria:

  • Artistic quality within the performance tradition
  • Interest in preliminary program submitted
